Cutting for Stone author Abraham Verghese was invited to give a talk at the recent TEDGlobal2011 conference in Edinburgh, Scotland. Speakers invited to the conference were asked to give presentations on “who we are, what we do, and how we relate to each other and to other living organisms.” Called “A Doctor’s Touch,” Verghese’s TEDTalk is a passionate speech about the importance of one of medicine’s most powerful and old-fashioned tools: human touch.
